Cabinet Graphics

Shortly after I put up this site, I got several e-mails from people asking that I share my hi-res graphic files, so they could get them printed and use them for their own cabinets. I'm honoured, and glad to share, but I don't have the webspace for my HUGE original Photoshop files. So, I've come up with an alternative. These files are in familiar compressed formats, but should be plenty large enough that you wont see any pixelation when you get them printed. Use them however you like, but I'd suggest importing into a graphics program like Photoshop to resize, layer, and modify to your liking. If you wind up using these on your cab, PLEASE send me some pics when it's done! I'd love to see how it turns out. |
| Marquee (1.43 mb) This is a LARGE .JPG file. If you open in a graphics program and re-size the image down to 27.5" by 8.5", you'll have a 300 dpi graphic that should print just like mine. You should have room to size different or crop if your marquee dimensions are different. | |
| Logo w/Transparent Background (3.37 mb) This is a .PNG file, saved in that format because it allows for transparency. In Photoshop, (or similar) you can import this to a layer ABOVE a background graphic (such as the grid graphic below). Then you can re-size and position the logo however you like. You could use this and the grid background to create a control panel very similar to mine, with your dimensions. | |
|
Grid Background (1.31 mb) .JPG. If you use this one for a control panel, I would ROTATE it 180 degrees, so it fades out in the opposite direction of the marquee. |

All about MAME: LOADS of links and information on this hobby! |

All about CABINETS: In case this is the first time you've seen a "MAMEcab", you may be surprised to know that there are HUNDREDS, if not thousands of these things out there, with more cropping up all the time! This site has a huge knowledge base of examples and information - a great place to start researching. |

ROMS: The BEST way to get complete roms by FAR! Stop screwing around searching the web or the NGs - just contact your nearest "burner" and soon you'll be all set! (don't ask me for roms - I'll just direct you here). You can still easily find SOME roms online to get you started - try Morpheus or KaZaA. About Rom Copyrights: My understanding is that the vast majority of copyright holders to these old games won't mind if people use them for fun, but will naturally object if people try to make money off of them! I should point out that use of these roms is completely legal ONLY if you own the original game boards. So.. DON'T SELL ROMS or attempt to profit from MAME in any way. |

Author of Advance MAME and Advance Menu, fantastic FREE software for MAME cabinets! There's alternatives, but I've tried them and can say that this stuff is the BEST available, especially if you're using a standard arcade monitor. Regular updates and support - Thanks Andrea! Obviously, thanks go to Nicola Salmoria and the rest of the MAME dev team! |
