I couldn't find any black carriage bolts to mount the joysticks, I only had some old ones that had been painted black on top, but they were all scratched half silver. Solution - sand the bolt heads clean, spray paint with High-Heat gloss black Tremclad (BBQ paint), then bake them in the oven for an hour at 500 degrees! It worked, I tried to scratch one and couldn't! Much more durable than regular black spray paint, I also used this approach to paint the metal marquee trim. |
